WordPress SEO problem: hreflang conflicts in the page source code

If you run a multilingual website, you need to help users from other countries find your content in the language that suits them best. This is where the hreflang attribute (rel=”alternate” hreflang=”x”) comes into play. This attribute helps search engines understand which page should be displayed to visitors based on their location. It is very important to synchronize your hreflang attributes correctly within the source code of your site, otherwise unexpected search engine behaviour may occur. You can find more information in this article.

To avoid conflicts, we recommend that you check your hreflang attributes in the source code of your page and fix one of the following problems:
– Conflicting hreflang and rel=canonical URLs
– Contradictory hreflang URLs
– No self-referencing hreflang URLs
